SIA Principles of safer restraint.
To promote safer practice during a physical intervention situation the SIA have produced a video to remind SIA operatives of the principles of safer restraint.
Operatives should always aim to take the least forceful option and take all necessary steps to keep themselves, and anyone being restrained, as safe as possible. Physical intervention should only be used as a last resort.
