Extreme E
Last weekend Security Scotland assisted our friends at ESM providing over 60 SIA Licensed Security & Event Safety Stewards to the first ever all-electric, off-road rally in the stunning setting of a disused opencast coal mine in Dumfriesshire.
Eco-friendly global motorsports series Extreme E took over the Glenmuckloch site in Dumfriesshire for an exciting double-header race over the weekend.
Ahead of the action, the drivers and crew assembled to aid in a wild salmon restoration project at the nearby River Nith. It’s part of Extreme E’s pioneering legacy projects programme which helps with green schemes around the world – as the series bids to shed motorsport’s gas-guzzling, climate-wrecking image.
The dramatic setting of Glenmuckloch – with its scarred landscape and sheer rock faces was the backdrop for the event which had teams backed by motorsport legends Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, Jenson Button and superstar DJ, Carl Cox.
Our friendly and engaging team covered the main event entry point, VIP Hospitality, staging areas, and the event site perimeter.
Adrian Steward, ESM Head of Security commented “I would like to say that, although we still have the derig to go, the entire Security Scotland deployment has been excellent, you and your staff have shown flexibility, consistency and professionalism throughout. The staff over the event weekend were both professional and courteous, in what can often be a challenging environment.
The strong management team you had on site, including Mark, Aimee, and Andrew, ensured that all deployments took place effectively and that all staff welfare was catered for.
We would certainly recommend using your company for any such future events”.
