This summer has been Security Scotland Ltd Events Division’s busiest summer to date.

Over the last few months our events team have worked at some of the best and most popular outdoor events Scotland has to offer. These events have included the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, Kiltwalk , Piping Inverness, Edinburgh International Film Festival and the 6 major golf events hosted in Scotland.

Some of these events were our first year delivering our safety and security services, with a combined total of approximately 1 million attendees.

The success of our various deployments was due to our commitment to provide the agreed service delivery plan together with the correct staffing levels and our continued commitment to treat our people well in terms of staff welfare.

Our teams braved the ever-pleasant Scottish weather with smiles all round as we worked to provide a safe and entertaining experience for all attendees – we would like to thank each and every one of our people for their hard work and effort.

To deliver our summer event services, we recruited and trained over 150 new event safety stewards and door supervisors, with a focus on providing a high level of customer service, coupled with our friendly company “can do” approach.

Like most events, we worked in close partnership with wider agencies to ensure a seamless operation was delivered, which included Police Scotland, Local Authorities, Safety Advisory Groups, and combined emergency services.

Security Scotland Managing Director James Glackin commented “It was a pleasure to see the summer team going from strength to strength. I would also like to say a special thanks to our wonderful event control room teams. I was particularly impressed with the calm and confident manner consistently in evidence, no matter the situation, throughout each event. Assisting in creating memorable moments for all attendees that will last them a lifetime was a bonus”.

Roll on 2023.
