We are delighted to announce our partnership with Radisson Blu providing front of house Security Hosts assisting with guest safety, security and Covid-19 compliance guidance at their iconic Glasgow Hotel. Situated in the heart of the City Centre, the Radisson Blu has just under 250 rooms, 15 meeting rooms and a function suite that holds events, dinners & awards nights for up to 800 guests. Our Specialist Services - Head of Field Operations, Mark Leonard commented “Our partnership with Radisson Blu underlines our commitment to the hotel sector within Glasgow City Centre to ensure a safe environment for customers and clients. During Euro 2021 we have provided plain clothed specialist security officers across various locations throughout the city and continue to prepare for COP26 in November”. This weekend our Mobile Patrol Officer’s will be visiting the Children’s Wood continuing with our action plan focusing on noise pollution, excessive littering, late night drinking and anti-social behaviour in the area. This has resulted in invaluable engagement taking place with local residents. We will continue working with our partners in keeping the Children’s Wood a safe & friendly environment.
Last week our Events Team were deployed at Braehead Arena for the Scottish Parliamentary Elections. Votes were being counted at the Arena, in Renfrew, for Renfrewshire’s three constituencies and the West Scotland region over Friday & Saturday. Our team supported more than 200 counting staff and other agencies in various roles, with heightened security and enhanced Covid-19 health and safety measures in place to ensure a safe environment for everyone attending. As part of our events team we also deployed some of our Specialist Security Officers (SSO’s) who are trained specifically in detecting individuals with criminal or hostile intentions by observing their behaviours and activities. From January to March this year, during the 2nd lockdown we took the opportunity to run 6 Internal Online Staff Training Workshops covering various topics that we felt would enhance our frontlines staff’s knowledge when deployed into an operational environment. As our industry diversifies, our pledge was to upskill our workforce to in turn support our vision of providing the best possible service. Over 350 staff took part in the sessions that lasted between 2 - 4 hours covering the topics below. 1. Customer Service Awareness 2. Report Writing & Radio Communication Awareness 3. Incident Escalation Awareness 4. Risk Analysis & Decision-Making Awareness 5. Counter Terrorism & Threat Analysis Awareness 6. The Roles & Responsibilities of the Safety Steward & Security Officer Each staff member took part in a knowledge check on completion and received an internal Certificate of Participation. Security Scotland Operations Director Chris Callaghan commented “it was great to see so many of our people taking part in
