Scottish Lightweight Champion

Security Scotland are delighted to send our Congratulations to Regan Glackin on achieving the title of Scottish Lightweight Boxing Champion. Regan, currently Security Scotland’s only sponsored professional athlete, welcomed company directors and guests in attendance as he produced a punch perfect performance to earn the decision 100-90 over his opponent securing his first personal title. Group Managing Director Eddie Tobin commented: “Security Scotland first sponsored Regan at the age of 16 while he was an amateur boxer, now as an undefeated professional boxer at the age of 25 it was a pleasure to watch Regan secure his first professional title. We will continue to support Regan as he progresses through his career and wish him an enjoyable and safe summer before he returns to the ring later in the year”.

Manchester Arena Anniversary

Today our thoughts are with the people of Manchester.We remember the families who lost loved ones and those who were injured and had their lives shattered because of the Manchester Arena attack on 22 May 2017.Six years on you are still very much in our thoughts. As part of our operational remit, we remain committed to playing our part to strengthen public safety through the new, impending legislation – Protect Duty. We also continue to work with our regulator the Scottish Industry Authority (SIA), police, and the Home Office in the pursuit of this goal. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the tragic events at Manchester Arena, at this time – we will never forget.

Professional Sponsored Athlete

Security Scotland are fully supporting Regan Glackin this coming Saturday night and wishing him all the very best of luck as he tops the bill at the Double Tree Hilton in Glasgow, fighting for the Scottish Light Weight Boxing title. The alliance aims to deliver meaningful and globally respected learning opportunities for crowd management practitioners of all experience levels, regardless of location or financial means while raising awareness of the behavioural science underpinning many crowd management considerations.

Extreme E

Last weekend Security Scotland assisted our friends at ESM providing over 60 SIA Licensed Security & Event Safety Stewards to the first ever all-electric, off-road rally in the stunning setting of a disused opencast coal mine in Dumfriesshire. Eco-friendly global motorsports series Extreme E took over the Glenmuckloch site in Dumfriesshire for an exciting double-header race over the weekend. Ahead of the action, the drivers and crew assembled to aid in a wild salmon restoration project at the nearby River Nith. It’s part of Extreme E’s pioneering legacy projects programme which helps with green schemes around the world - as the series bids to shed motorsport’s gas-guzzling, climate-wrecking image. The dramatic setting of Glenmuckloch - with its scarred landscape and sheer rock faces was the backdrop for the event which had teams backed by motorsport legends Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, Jenson Button and superstar DJ, Carl Cox. Employee of the Month

Congratulations to our April EOTM Craig Nicholson. Craig has been part of our team for almost two years now and when he is working Craig is very proactive and strives to do a good job. Craig is always keen for direction, eager to learn new aspects of the industry and puts himself forward to assist when required. James Glackin commented “ Craig has excelled in his duties recently whilst transitioning into his recently promoted Supervisor role, this was pleasantly evident to witness when leading a team at Ayr festival when his staff’s welfare was at the forefront of his responsibilities”. UKCMA

Security Scotland are delighted to renew their membership with the UKCMA for the 7th year.  The United Kingdom Crowd Management Association (UKCMA) represents the highest professional performers within the event crowd management sector. The organisation meets several times a year & provides a forum for all members to address the emerging challenges facing the industry. We are also represented on the associations Strategy Group. Exciting Weekend

Continuing a strong start to our Summer schedule for the Security Scotland Events Team. Throughout the weekend our teams of welcoming and friendly safety and security staff were at Braehead Arena for the Scottish Wedding Exhibition as well at Queens Park in Glasgow for the @meltingpotglasgow x Heverlee Summer disco sessions. We also had teams deployed at @queensparkfc on Friday night, St. Johnstone Football Club and @motherwellfc for their busy and exciting Saturday fixtures. And finally on Sunday, we were assisting our longest standing football client @celticfc ensure the safety and security at the stadium as players and fans gathered after their celebratory league title win.

SIA Operational Visit

Last weekend at one of our larger music events, we received a visit from the SIA Compliance team. The officers carried out SIA Licence validity checks and chatted with staff regarding their various roles & duties.
