Robbery Prevention Measures

Due to an increase in street robbery, the Metropolitan Police Service in London are working to prevent crime in hotspot areas. While this initiative is taking place in London the principles and changes can be applied to areas across the UK. As security operatives are often working in these areas, they are best placed to educate the public and help prevent street robbery. Having received training to work in the industry, licensed operatives will be aware of many of the steps that can be taken to prevent street robbery. Still, as a reminder, here are recommendations that our team will continue to make to the public:  Stay aware of your surroundings and pay attention to who’s around you. Keep valuables such as mobile phones, watches and cash out of sight. Plan your route home. Look confident You are less likely to be targeted if you look confident. Move with purpose and try to be aware of

Action Counters Terrorism (ACT)

If you’ve seen or heard something that could suggest a terrorist threat to the UK - do not ignore it, report it. In an emergency, or if you need urgent police assistance, you should always dial 999. Our greatest line of defence is when the public and the police work together. The BVRLA and its members continue to cooperate and work closely with law enforcement organisations on matters relating to security threats and best practice.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsCiAQXQTgc&feature=youtu.be

Firearms and weapons attacks are thankfully extremely rare, but we must always know to do stay safe. What would you do if you came under fire or heard gunshots at work or in public? Should you stay and hide, or run for the nearest exit? Would you know what to do to stay safe?   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYPyZ3ErFy0&feature=youtu.be
