Security Scotland secure Belladrum Festival

Security Scotland are delighted to announce we have secured the contract for this year’s Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival in Inverness. The Festival is a 3 day music and arts festival, held on the Belladrum Estate near Inverness at the start of August. Since being founded in 2004, the festival has rapidly grown in popularity, selling out in advance every year since 2008. The festival is well known for its wide-ranging musical scope, as well as its family friendly atmosphere, with a large dedicated family camp-site. The site has a host of stages, tents, acoustic areas, comedy & cabaret stages as well as other areas which include a dedicated children’s area, with puppet workshops, arts and crafts, circus skills, dance and music classes. Security Scotland Wins Belstaff Contract

Security Scotland are delighted to be providing our retail security services for luxury clothing brand Belstaff’s Ingram Street store in Glasgow city centre. Our staff deployed at the store have all completed our Retail & Manned Guarding Training Course which was specially compiled to cover all aspects of the specialist roles and responsibilities that are required when working in high-end retail stores which will ensure the safety of the staff and the security of the expensive stock.

Experiences of Women in the Security Industry

On 22 January Perpetuity Research published a report: “Exploring the experiences of women in security and identifying key areas for industry development”.  The report is based on 706 survey responses and 21 interviews with female security professionals from a range of roles who carry out or manage staff who undertake physical security tasks.  Security Scotland are always interested to hear from their staff regarding their experiences.  View the full report at => http://bit.ly/37nfKUo

Security Scotland Awarded Kiltwalk Contract

Security Scotland are delighted to announce that we have been awarded the contract for The Kiltwalk. Kiltwalk is a unique charity that enables walkers to raise money for any Scottish charity of their choice. The event takes place in Glasgow in April and in Edinburgh in September with over 20,000 participants expected. Fundraisers will be met by our welcoming team, who will work closely with the Kiltwalk management team throughout the events. We will deploy over 50 of our trademark friendly and helpful stewarding and security professionals on the ground over the course of each Kiltwalk. Our team will undertake a variety of duties including providing public information, guarding property, manning temporary road closures along the route, assisting at pit stops and general stewarding of the event route. This will enable us to help minimise disruption for the local community, walkers and volunteers by managing the safety of the crowd inside and outside of the

Winter Weather Advice

Police Scotland is advising that the Met Office has issued a Yellow weather warning and that conditions for travel may hazardous and EXTRA CAUTION should be exercised.  If you are travelling you should ensure you and your vehicle are adequately prepared for the conditions making sure you have sufficient fuel and supplies such as warm clothing, food and water in the event you are delayed for several hours. Charge your mobile phone and plan your route as well as alternative routes. Remember to take the required PPE to work and if working alone follow the required lone working processes. RUN HIDE TELL

On 2 February 2020 two people were stabbed in Streatham, London in what police termed a terrorist incident. This terror related stabbing was an isolated and rare incident however, please remember this advice from counter terrorism police in the rare event of a firearms or weapons attack.
