Congratulations to our March EOTM Matthew Penn…

Matt has vastly improved on his professional standards, availability, and reliability over the recent years since joining our team in February 2021.  Having worked the majority of last year’s high profile golfing events consistently to a very high standard with no issues Matt has also recently settled in regular positions within our high-end retail clients alongside a regular position within the night time industry and leisure sector which was all new to him. Matt is always very pleasant to customers and a great team member to work alongside with. He has developed from being an event steward to having a full time career in the security industry. James Glackin, Managing Director, said “I believe Matt’s upturn in standards across all the companies 3 sectors of security services definitely deserves recognition.”. Employee of the Month

Congratulations to Kerry Dohan who is our January Employee of the Month !! Kerry plays a big part in our events team and recently completed her first supervisory role throughout “Christmas at the Botanics” Edinburgh’s annual light show event. She communicated well with the office, was proactive about her rotas, and her feedback was that she briefed the team very well. She correctly dealt with a wide range of issues including inclement weather and consequently staff welfare.  Not only did Kerry make sure all the staff were looked after at the site, she also extended this to all visitors on site resulting in lovely compliments from her customers: https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=1164407700968157&set=a.1031266357615626 Kerry is happy to travel all over the country covering a wide range of shifts, from retail to football to golfing tournaments. November Employee of the Month

Congratulations for our November EOTM Josh Campbell. Josh recently celebrated four years with Security Scotland. Throughout his time with us Josh has always been very helpful and is also one of our most regular transport drivers. Josh worked tirelessly throughout the summer and more recently this winter Josh has taken up a supervisor’s role at the Christmas at the Botanics, Edinburgh. The team always comments that Josh “really seems to look after our team” and “is consistently friendly.” Well Done Josh!!

June Employee of the Month

Lets do a throwback thursday to our EOTM for June, Andy McNicol.  Working with us for almost three years Andy has experience in all sectors of security services that we provide. A familiar and reliable face at events Andy has great people skills and has been very helpful working alongside the recruitment and training teams to assist in building a team to support with the company’s continued expansion. Andy has gone above and beyond this summer supervising and assisting with Dundee Summer Sessions as well as being instrumental to a successful build phase for The 150th Open at the world renown home of golf, the Old Course, St. Andrews. Since taking on the role as head steward at one of our busiest nightclub venues in Dundee Andy has done a fantastic job. His admin skills are not without notice; as well as recruiting and assisting with training for his own teams, he also

July Employee of the month

Lets do a throwback to our July Employee of the month, Bert Scott.  Bert joined Security Scotland post early retirement as he wasn’t yet ready to put his feet up and was keen to be involved in something that would give him a nice bit of variety until he was ready!! Working with us now for almost four years, Bert is always friendly and approachable and receives great feedback from other members of our team as well as from clients and partner agencies we work alongside. Bert recently received excellent feedback from a Police Scotland Counter Terrorism Security Coordinator regarding his proactive and engaging manner with members of the public whilst on duty. Well done, Bert!

August Employee of the month

Congratulations to our August Employee of the month Stephanie Archer! Steph has been exceptionally helpful at the Edinburgh Playhouse. She has an excellent rapport with colleagues and the Playhouse staff, whilst also ensuring the best possible customer service.  Approaching her one year anniversary working with us Her customer service skills were recently highlighted again by the below feedback emailed to us from a Playhouse customer: “I just wanted to make you aware of what an incredible asset you have working for you. The venue had more stairs than we anticipated, and we were struggling to make our way down all the steps and get seated without additional support. Steph appeared and did not leave us until we were seated. She was so patient, attentive, and helpful. She assured us she’d be back to help us leave once the show finished and she didn’t let us down. We were so grateful she was there

April EOTM – David Wilson

Congratulations to our April EOTM David Wilson  David has been nominated a few times previously but recently his actions have just shone through, especially at one of our recent events, the Kiltwalk! David always has a very positive attitude on every shift he attends. He always acknowledges all staff at every shift with good morning, good afternoon and asking how they are ensuring great team comradery.  Every job role he has undertaken so far he always does well. He always is really keen to help, competent and very customer friendly. We have clients specifically requesting David’s return to their premises and well, what more can we ask for really?! Well Done, David!!

Congratulations to our March EOTM Head Office Recruitment, Vetting and Compliance Teams. Our recruitment and vetting teams work exceptionally hard to ensure that everyone who joins the Security Scotland team are the best people for the job.  Ensuring that every single person provides the correct documentation to ensure we comply with the British Standard 7858 Screening of individuals working in a secure environment the teams ensure our clients can rely on us to provide a consistently excellent service to them and their customers. The team’s collective hard work recently paid off with Security Scotland achieving their best score to date in this years Security Industry Authority Approved Contractors Scheme audit. Well done to everyone involved !!

Feb EOTM – Sam Steel

Congratulations to our February EOTM Sam Steel Sam responded in an excellent manner to a highly distressing incident. Whilst on site Sam viewed what initially seemed to be an intoxicated male passing by the site however whilst continuing his observations Sam’s concern for the individual caused him to react in the way which saved the man’s life.  Sam went above and beyond his role and his quick thinking whilst maintaining the Security of the site is the type of action we wish to be openly praising and acknowledging to get the best out of our colleagues. Well Done, Sam!!

January EOTM – Ian Forrest

Congratulations to our January EOTM Ian Forrest Ian is always very reliable, accommodating, and super helpful is just some of the feedback we have had for him…  and we agree!! His versatility allows him to pick-up last-minute requests or swich shifts last minute. We recieved good feedback from site leads regarding him as well as our event clients. Further feedback as have received is that Ian is always the first guy to be moving all the barriers and setting up The Edinburgh Playhouse.  He’s often seen sweeping up and removing all the rubbish around the doorway and is generally a helpful, pleasant chap! Well Done, Ian!!
